Your child’s progress shouldn’t stop at the clinic door. Attain coordinates with your child’s school team, including teachers and IEP meetings, so the supports around your child line up.
Why It Matters
Kids do best when the adults around them are working from the same plan. When your child’s ABA team and school team talk, skills your child is building in therapy have a better chance of showing up in the classroom, too.
What Coordination Can Include
- Taking part in your child’s IEP meetings
- Talking with your child’s teachers
- Keeping you in the loop, so you’re never the only one carrying information between school and therapy
Every child’s needs are different. Your child’s BCBA will talk with you about what kind of school coordination would help most.
