In-Home ABA Therapy Across Colorado

Some of the most important skills happen at home: mealtimes, getting dressed, playing with a brother or sister, winding down at bedtime. With in-home ABA therapy, your child learns those skills right where they use them, with a team guided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Our clinic is in Fort Collins, and we provide in-home ABA therapy to families anywhere in Colorado.

What Is In-Home ABA Therapy?

In-home ABA is the same individualized, play-based therapy we provide in our clinic, brought to your home. Your child’s BCBA designs the plan, and a therapist works with your child in the places where everyday life happens.

Home is a great place to teach skills in the setting where they’re actually used. It also makes it easier for parents, caregivers, and siblings to be part of therapy, and it helps skills learned in the clinic or at school carry over to home life.

Anywhere in Colorado. You don’t need to live near Fort Collins. We provide in-home ABA therapy for families throughout the state. No part of Colorado is left out.

Is In-Home ABA a Good Fit for Your Child?

It may be a good fit if your child:

  • Is between birth and 18 years old. We work with children with a variety of diagnoses, such as autism (ASD), ADHD, and anxiety. Not sure if your child qualifies? Call us and we’ll walk you through it.
  • Could use support with routines that happen at home, like mealtimes, getting dressed, bath time, or bedtime
  • Would benefit from practicing communication and play skills with siblings and family
  • Lives too far from our Fort Collins clinic for regular visits, or does better in a familiar setting
  • Is learning skills in the clinic or at school that you’d like to see carry over to home

Not sure whether clinic, home, or a mix is right? Talk with us. We’ll help you think through what fits your child and your family. You can also read about our clinic-based ABA therapy in Fort Collins.

What In-Home Sessions Can Look Like

Every child and every home is different. Here is the general rhythm:

  • Arrival and check-in. Your therapist arrives, says hello, and checks in with you about how your child is doing that day.
  • Set up. A few minutes to get the space and materials ready, with time for your child to settle in.
  • Learning through play. Your child’s ABA program is taught in natural, everyday moments, like asking for a snack, taking turns with a sibling, or getting dressed.
  • Social and play breaks. Time to play, move, and connect is built into every session, because everyone learns better when they feel good.
  • Check-in with you. You hear what went well, what we’re working on next, and how to practice between sessions.

Hours that fit your child. We offer after-school sessions and full-day sessions. Many providers cap the number of hours a child can get. We don’t set a cap of our own: hours are built around what your child needs, based on the BCBA’s assessment and clinical plan and on what your insurance authorizes.

Who Comes to Your Home

Your child works with a trained therapist, and their care is designed and overseen by a BCBA who reviews progress and adjusts the plan when something isn’t working. BCBAs provide weekly supervision of every child’s case.

We collect data during sessions so your child’s plan isn’t based on guesswork, the same way we do in the clinic.

Working Together With Caregivers

You know your child better than anyone. At home, you get to see therapy up close, ask questions in the moment, and learn strategies you can use every day. Siblings can join in too, when that helps.

We share what we’re seeing, what we recommend, and why, and your goals shape the plan. A parent or caregiver needs to be home during in-home sessions. Progress updates and parent meetings happen weekly and/or monthly.

Common Questions

Do you really provide in-home ABA anywhere in Colorado?+

Yes. Our clinic is in Fort Collins, and we provide in-home ABA therapy for families throughout Colorado, with no part of the state left out. Tell us where you are and we’ll talk through what’s available.

Can my child do both clinic and in-home sessions?+

Yes, as long as our Fort Collins clinic is close enough for your family. You can combine clinic and in-home sessions, or switch between them as your child’s needs change. Being flexible is one of the things we care about most. Many skills are easier to keep up when they’re practiced in more than one setting, and your BCBA can talk with you about what makes sense for your child.

Does a parent or caregiver need to be home during sessions?+

Yes. A parent or caregiver needs to be home during in-home sessions. It also means you see therapy up close and can ask questions as they come up.

How many hours a week will my child need?+

There’s no one-size-fits-all number. Many providers cap hours; Attain doesn’t set a limit of its own. Your child’s BCBA recommends hours based on the assessment and what your child needs, and your insurance authorization still plays a part in the final number.

What times are in-home sessions available?+

We offer both after-school sessions and full-day sessions. Tell us what your family’s week looks like and we’ll talk through what fits.

Do we need anything special at home?+

Sessions are built around your everyday spaces and routines. Two things do need to be in place. First, a safe home that’s ready for therapy: we do a short home safety check before sessions start, and the space needs to stay that way. Second, a designated caregiver who is home for the whole session and available to help with things like medication, snacks and meals, or questions that come up.

Is there a waitlist?+

No. Attain has no waitlist. When sessions start depends on your family’s availability and our staff’s schedule at the times you want, and our team works to get your child started quickly.

Do you accept my insurance?+

We accept Aetna, UMR, Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program), Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Optum. If yours isn’t listed, contact us and we’ll tell you what your options are.
