ABA Therapy With Blue Cross Blue Shield in Fort Collins, CO
Yes. Attain SLB is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) in Colorado and accepts BCBS for ABA therapy for children and teens ages 1 to 18. Choose our Fort Collins clinic, sessions in your home anywhere in Colorado, or both, and start without a waitlist. Blue plans vary, so we verify your benefits with you before the assessment.
Which Blue plan do you have?
Blue Cross Blue Shield isn’t one company. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association describes itself as an association of independent, locally operated companies, and it lists Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield as the company for Colorado. Benefits can differ a lot from one Blue plan to the next.
- A Colorado BCBS card: we’re in network, and we check your child’s ABA benefits for you.
- A BCBS card from another state: call us at 970-999-5720 and we’ll look into your coverage before anything else.
Colorado’s autism law and your Blue plan
Under Section 10-16-104 (1.4), C.R.S., health plans issued or renewed in Colorado must cover the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder, and the Colorado Division of Insurance says the minimum includes ABA.
Two limits are worth knowing. Plans issued in other states aren’t subject to Colorado’s mandates, which is one more reason an out-of-state Blue card deserves a call. Self-funded employer plans are outside them too. If you see “CO-DOI” on your card, the Division says your plan is regulated in Colorado.
Questions to ask your Blue plan
- Is Attain SLB in network for my plan?
- Is ABA included for my child’s diagnosis?
- Do the assessment or therapy sessions need prior authorization?
- Is in-home ABA handled the same way as clinic ABA?
We ask these for you when we verify benefits, but it helps to know what we’re checking.
Our clinic and in-home care
The clinic sits at 1224 E. Elizabeth St, Fort Collins, CO 80524, and serves the Fort Collins area: Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, Greeley, Timnath and Wellington. Outside that area, therapy happens at home, wherever you live in Colorado. Each child’s program is written and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and families can combine clinic and home sessions.
